Kempf, a psychiatrist, wrote a 1400+ page "scientifically oriented analytical biography" of Lincoln (p. xi) that reads like a caricature of psychoanalytical double-talk. But he was serious. Chapter 1 of volume 1, titled "Lincoln's physical constitution," is filled with untenable psychiatric conclusions, yet embeds a worthy overview of the physical Lincoln. Unfortunately, it is almost devoid of references. This was the only chapter I read.
